"For 3 days in Kiyomaro's house, Dufaux has instructed Tio, Umagon, Kanchome, and Brago on how to train."

Sherry: Thank you, Dufaux. We will work hard based on your training plan.
Gash: What kind of training are Sherry and Brago doing?
Sherry: As Dufaux said, Brago has to go to an area of intense gravitational fields; to a harsh environment to train.
Sherry: And I would be in France following Dufaux's training plan.

Dufaux: Even though I said "Practice Battle", if you're not being serious about it, you could die.

Kiyomaro: Don't worry!!! I'll adjust my heart energy, adjusting it to a "only to defeat the enemy" power level!!! If this goes on, we'll be killed!!!! You understand that, don't you?!?!?

All jokes aside, this was a pretty shocking chapter. Something really dark must be lurking within our lovable weakling to upset a sociopath like Dufaux. It wouldn't surprise me if the enemy found out about this and propositioned him.

Yea... I expected Kanchome to get powerful, but not THAT powerful. He's not even scratched! Kanchome's power is mostly illusion-based so far but this one seems to deal a lot of damage. Maybe it's an illusion-attack spell, like making Kiyo attack himself?

This Kanchome thing seems to be some sorta mind illusion. Though I think Raiku purposely left it vague. I dunno how Kanchome could suddenly get strong enough to beat Gash, he could barely attack before. I think the purpose of this chapter was to setup some mysteries which will be explored later.
But certainly, I don't think the purpose of this is for the fans to like Kanchome now, because nobody's ever supposed to surpass Gash. There was some fan speculation that Kanchome would betray Gash, which I doubt, but it seems like something weird like that will happen. We'll just have to see.
And the japanese raw still isn't out yet... a lot of jump chapters came out, but only a couple sunday chapters did. Sombody will continue scanning it eventually, until then we'll have to make dew with these chinese raws.

But yeah, the Baou thing was an illusion that Kanchome created, which allowed him to win by distracting Kiyomaro.

Also why doesn't Dufaux just use the answer talker to determine when and where Clear will re-materialize, and have Kiyo flood the area with Zarugemuzu and hit him with a REALLY big BAOU when he steps thru?
Also ... what would happen if say Gash (or mr Moustache) burned everyone's books... since Clear and Gomu aren't in the human world... would that trigger the end of the fight? Isn't that how it works.. people that aren't in the human world aren't in the fight anymore?

Losing the demon battle => book burnt. So not being in the human world isn't quite losing. Plus, if one would consider fillers + Movie 1, being in other worlds doesn't equal losing.

I'm not ENTIRELY sure how it works, but I'd ASK the answer talker.
From the 9X-99 Filler Arc, being in the filler world was meant they were out of the contest. They could still return as long as their book was INTACT. But the contest could end with them in the filler world.
I'm just saying they might be able to trigger a victory to prevent clear from destroying everything, simply by burning everyone's book except one. Stopping Clear from being king.
The fight doesn't end when 99 books go back. It ends when 1 book is remaining in the human world.
ALL I'm saying.

As for the other world thing, we don't have anything to go on for that besides filler, which has already contradicted the manga in some places. So as things currently stand, I don't think there's anything in the manga to indicate that this would be possible.

As for what the power is ITSELF... I don't know. Kanchome's spells (or rather, how he uses them) have always been some of the more interestings things about this series. And two or three new spells of his kind of... broad theme of illusions or whatever, could mean just about anything, right?
